GIMP Signature Tutorial Suggestions?

This is an open call to content creators or any GIMP user who might be able to suggest good (ie GREAT) GIMP signature tutorials, whether written or video, for inclusion on TheGIMP.ca. I’ve been searching high and low for definitive guides and have come up empty handed.

To be sure, there are a lot of decent beginner tutorials out there but for one reason or another, I seem to hit the back button because I’m always a little disappointed. Videos that are more music video than tutorial are an issue for me. Tutorials in image format (such as many on DeviantArt, despite the fact that they are mostly quite good) aren’t really the most accessible format for newcomers. So, if you know of or have followed a GIMP Signature tutorial you feel would be extremely useful to the rest of our readers, please share…I would happy to post it up and give credit for the find.
